Amandla Baraka

My career started in fashion photography and slowly transformed into filmmaking after working in-house with brands for several years.
About the artist

The great thing is that when I bought my first camera in early 2014, my goal was always to make films. It just took me a little longer to get to that point.

Lost Keys is a window into the life, history, and home of a revolutionary artist - and grandmother.

My work tends to call on the essence of peace, resolve, and good spirit. I like to share human stories and that reflects in my photography as well. I hope that my work can touch someone in a way that allows them to feel for others and understand new perspectives. I think that lends well to normalizing black stories as well.

It’s time to make unseen filmmakers seen.
